The Autistic Self Advocacy Network seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism. ASAN believes that the goal of autism advocacy should be a world in which autistic people enjoy equal access, rights, and opportunities. We work to empower autistic people across the world to take control of our own lives and the future of our common community, and seek to organize the autistic community to ensure our voices are heard in the national conversation about us. The world’s most visited autism resource, trusted by medical providers & autistics everywhere . Dissatisfied with the lack of information available on autism in adults, in 2018 we founded Embrace Autism, which we intended as a platform
to distribute research and experience-based information on autism. We did this as a way to empower ourselves and fellow autistics.
Because for many of us, we don’t come to fully understand and appreciate ourselves until we find out that we are autistic, and find out more about what this entails.
